A familiar stand of aspens in the meadow east of the Village Store. It was snowing which gave the cliff face a muted ghostly look and allowed the aspens to separate themselves from the background.
It was a snowy day in Yosemite and this little tree was standing alone in the middle of the meadow. The affect of the snow in the air helps separated it from the background trees.
I have been going back to Death Valley's Zabriskie Point over and over again trying to get a good panorama. This time I stayed close by at the Amargosa Opera House and got up early for sunrise and I finally got something I liked.
A fresh snowfall in the Yosemite Valley with Half Dome in the background. I got there early in the morning to setup for a shot of the elm. I hoped there would be enough sun to cause a glow in background trees as a backdrop for the elm. Snow was expected and it was bitter cold, but I was going to stand there until it happened. But, then a snow squall started and took I this shot.

Woke up early to catch the sun wash over Death Valley's Manly Beacon at sunrise.
A brilliant day after heavy rains.
